Have you ever thought of moving out from your parent’s house? Luckily, there are a lot of choices for housing accommodation for you to choose from, and it’s a good idea to check out the studios for rent in Hong Kong. Below are the signs that you should be aware of before it’s too late!
#1 You still have a curfew
Being an adult, it’s super embarrassing to tell your friends that you have to go home before midnight while the party is still rocking. Getting a place of your own would mean that you can leave when you want to and go home without worrying whether you will disturb your parents or accidentally wake them up in the middle of the night!
#2 Privacy
In our parents’ minds, we are always a child no matter how old we get. They would take care of us in all ways, for example, helping us to tidy up our rooms (even though we’re not able to find our stuff afterwards), do our laundry (but never read the clothing label, and accidentally ruin our clothes), etc. If you are a private person who can do everything on your own, it is certainly better to look for a place of your own and prevent all these situations from happening in the first place.
#3 Independence
When you feel like you need to be independent, it’s a good time to move out, even if you’re not sure whether you will be able to do all the chores on your own. In time, you will start to pick up different daily surviving skills, such as cooking a healthy proper meal instead of just eating the cup noodles from the shelf, or doing your own laundry without the help of your mum.
#4 Long commute time to work
If it takes you too much time to get to work, it’s better to start living on your own in a place closer to the office. Find a flatmate if you can’t afford the rent alone! Not only will you be shortening your commute, but you will also be able to get more free time to do the things you like and enjoy!
#5 Can’t bring along your significant other
It’s super awkward if you want to spend a night with your significant other with your parents at home, especially with Hong Kong’s flats being so small in size. When you decide to move out, you will get the space that you need to welcome any guest without the parents sitting in the next room.
