Artist in Residency program winner

(Yau Yik Sum) is the winner of The Nate Artist in Residency program for 2020 – the first artist to be chosen since the launch of the program which is focused on providing a residency for a local Hong Kong artist. 

Sam (Yau Yik Sum) takes the title of The Nate & District15 Platforms Artist in Residency program starting from February 2020

The Nate & District15 Platforms is pleased to announce that Sam (Yau Yik Sum) is the winner of The Nate Artist in Residency program for 2020 – the first artist to be chosen since the launch of the program which is focused on providing a residency for a local Hong Kong artist. 

Sam will receive a one month stay at The Nate serviced studios located at 176 Nathan Road and also access to a working studio at The Nate, “We have always believed in supporting local artists and this residency program gave us an opportunity to do that” says Alex Bent, co-founder of the developer of The Nate, District15. “We received a huge amount of applications and there was some really good work, so it was a tough decision,” said Alex, “It made all the judges very positive about the huge amount of talent that we have locally and we really looking forward to having Sam, stay with us.”

“This would be an incredible experience. I am very happy and honoured that I am selected among other artists,” said Yau Yik Sum.We will be posting some of Sam work on The Nate blog over the next few weeks along with an interview with the artists about their time at The Nate.
